About
Born and raised in Oregon, I was playing piano before I could even read music. You could always find me improvising and composing at our slightly-out-of-tune, walnut Wurlitzer upright piano. My parents encouraged me, sacrificing time and money to provide me with the opportunity to cultivate my gift. Since then, I have not stopped exploring this beautiful instrument. Every day, I realize more and more the depth of music and how little I know it. The well of musical knowledge is more infinite and complex than any of us know, which is why I'm dedicated to being a lifelong learner.

I am passionate about taking music lessons beyond starting and finishing a piece. I strongly believe in connecting with the parents of my students and drawing them into the journey of music education with their student. To me, success is watching both my student and their parents become excited about learning music together. It's more than learning to play a song as it's written on the page. When you enroll in lessons with me, you walk through a portal into a unique community. Lessons open up the opportunity for mentorship. They deepen character and build confidence. Music lessons aren’t just a fun extracurricular added to your schedule. They're necessary and irreplaceable, and they ought to be a significant investment!

My teaching style is fundamentally classical, as I seek to provide students with a well-rounded musical education. My approach to lessons will expose students to music fundamentals in theory, history, and in both ear-training and sight-reading. However, while I do teach from a classical core, student/parent preferences and interests are welcome and will be incorporated—we may explore composition, pedagogy, accompanying, worship/pop chords, etc.
